Plant-Based Water-Repellent Coating

Waterproof your apparel with Boreo, a superhydrophobic, water-repellent coating, and join us in working with nature instead of against it.

Rethink staying dry!

What if you could make your everyday clothing repel water, keeping you dry, while saving you weight on your outdoor adventures? And, in doing so, your apparel is now able to keep the rain out while letting sweat through, preventing that clammy, cold feeling you get from a rain jacket. Well, with Boreo, you can!

How Alpenshield's water-repellent coating, Boreo, works.

How to apply Boreo?

Wash → Coat → Dry → Wear

The process of coating a shirt with Boreo, made by Alpenshield.
1
Apply DWR Coating

Wash your apparel, then spray, soak, or rub on the coating.

2
Throw in Dryer

Heat-activate the coating by placing your apparel in a dryer on medium heat for 30 minutes or by using a blow dryer on high heat.

3
Wear in the Rain

Your clothing is now re-treated and ready to keep you dry and warm in the rain.

No more worrying about what’s being sprayed in your home or washed down your drain.

What can you coat with Boreo?

Kids clothing. Shoes. Tents. Rain jackets. Ropes. Work wear. Cars. Soft shells. Ski skins. Mittens. Pants. Sleeping bags. Shirts.
